WENDY SARA
At HAME-ISH we were delighted to support Wendy Sara for her solo exhibition of ocean and water art in Dundas Street Gallery in January 2025 by inviting poets to respond to her work.
The twenty-four winning poems were displayed alongside Wendy’s work for the duration of the exhibition and can also now be read below.
Many congratulations to those whose poems were selected. Also, a heartfelt thanks to all who submitted their work. All of the submissions were of high quality and it was difficult job selecting the winners.

SUBMIT A POEM!
Send us your poems (you can submit as many as you like) by 5pm on Friday 10th January 2025!
- Be inspired by the themes of Wendy’s exhibition- WATER, OCEAN, SEAS, and SALTINESS.
- Look at the paintings on Wendy’s website and tell us if your poem is inspired or related to a specific painting. This isn’t required, but good to know for gallery displaying.
- Send us new or existing poems – we don’t mind if they have already been published.
We will select up to 20 that will appear alongside Wendy’s paintings for the duration of her exhibition and online on the Hame-ish Website for up to two months.

STEP 1
Before submitting you poem, please make a payment of £3 to Hame-ish Arts. This will be used to cover costs.
